Windsong's 'summer camp'...
We have a fine time in the summer, welcoming back alumni and our currently enrolled children. 'Visitors' are also welcome, if we have room in our registration.
We have a maximum of twelve children in the summer, with miss sue as the teacher, and two of her daughters as favorite assistants... Our summer week is four days long, Monday through Thursday, 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Usually five weeks of camp are offered. Families may sign up for two days or four days, though four days is our preference. Summer days are similar to those in the school year, moving through a morning of free play and circle and snack and an artistic activity and story and lunch. On summer mornings, though, the children are free to move from inside to outside, throughout our play times. Our snacks are similar also: Rice Day, Fruit Soup Day, Millet Muffin Day, and Gnome Porridge Day. We are busy in the summer! We have boats to build, (and whatever other wooden crafts the children may devise), we have a fountain that invites engineering, a 'pond' to set boats afloat, and all our usual doings, as well as our special deeds for the week. Our summer schedule is dictated a bit serendipitously, according to the Conlon family's summer plans...We announce our schedule, and begin registration, in May... Please call if you are interested in our summer program....All are welcome(!!) |
